say it ain't so...

I have done some research and it appears that a large contributor to the perceived sound quality difference between Yamaha (S90/Motif) and Korg (Trinity/Triton) is concerning the actual sample time of each sound. Korg apparently samples their sound loops for 4 sec while Yamaha samples for 12. Has anyone else heard this? When listening to my Trinity at about 4 secs I can definitely hear the decay drop off slightly and pick back up...any feedback from the Motif users who may be able to check the length of those samples? Any Trinity/Triton users out there have ideas about beefing up sounds? All of my sounds even with tweaking just sound a bit weak. I have heard some industry quality albums recorded with some of these presets and they are recignizable, but I would like to be able to alter the sounds through onboard editing to get the best possible output before having to send to mixer for eq, etc...
Just curious...

Never heard that before, good analysis. I'll check that in my Triton.
