well......

I picked myself up a Motif 8.

I could just fall over dead from the sounds and capabilities.....specially since I got a package deal for under 2k.

Here is my question.

I have never really sequenced. My old PSR530 was not quite up to the challenge LOL!

Is there anyone out there who would be willing to write out a simple project? Something that would take me step by step thru the development of a song? Nothing too fancy. Just do a really souped up version of Twinkle Twinkle or something.

Here is what I am looking for.....

A nicely layered song as the demo.

Then the steps that lead up to placing the individual tracks.

A written explanation of your methods and why this goes there.

What controls do you hit to achieve your goals as they are hit in the sequencing process.

Each step to be peppered with examples by an MP3 of the unfinished work up until that point.

All I need to do is learn the basic foundation of what my board can do. I am not going to get into sampling unless I turn 45 and get a wild hair up my ass.

I simply want to put some demos together of my own songs.

Is this possible or am I asking too much? It might be. I say that because Yamaha doesn't even have a project tutorial from what I can see.

I am willing to pay for the lesson.

Well, I can definitely say that Yammie's manual isn't in english even though the words are.

For this purpose, they've developed this site:

http://www.motifator.com

Where they cover this topic wonderfully.

I would also recommend you picking up the DVD Manual (I, II, and III)

But check out that link - everything's covered there.
