New to CEP

Just snagged CEP of the net and need to know what basic configuration to start with.......any tips on tryin to get started? I have everything goin through a 16 channel board into my soundcard ( SB 512 ) and the output goin to a home stereo receiver for monitoring.......am I on the right track so far ? I recorded a stereo drum machine on 2 tracks for 2 minutes, but it would only play back for 29 seconds, but that was before I entered the key # and it was still a trial version. It also distorted though I kept the level good during recording, and figured out to turn down the channels during playback to stop distortion....Please help the Idiot cross the street without givin me to much shit.........Thanks......Oh yea....do I need to turn my computer monitor off right before I start recording a guitar track to kill noise ( had this problem with another program )

Sounds like you are OK....

To hear the entire track without it stopping.....expand the view of the track until you see the whole thing....or change the numbers in length of track.....it is only playing back 29 seconds because that is all that you can see....
As far as playback volume goes....as long as your levels are right....it will be OK......you just need to adjust you PC playback volume....
ummmm....I don't understand why you would have to turn off your monitor....it should not be an issue....usually i snake a line to another room to get away from my CPU fan but, I have never had a problem with a monitor before....
I can post a screen shot if you need it...let me know man....

Take it easy and good luck,
Joe

if your monitor is producing a magnetic field strong enough influence your guitar pickups, then that is an electrical problem, NOT software. changing recording applications will not influence it. you might try changing either your position or the monitor's position in the room. or, if you feel like spending the money, get an LCD.

I sure hope "snagged it off the net" means you downloaded it after you gave Syntrillium your credit card number
