What could it be
im recording each side of a cassette tape onto cubase as one audio track then mixdown that track
and export it to wavelab to be divided per song and burn to cd i did it for the side A but when i try to do the same for side B there is no graphic representation of the mixdown on the mixdowned track eventhough it went to the process of creating it (i.e Blue bar of progress) all i get is just 2 flat lines (death) no sound Can someone tell me what my other hand touched Thanks |

What are you using for recording the cassette? It sounds like a panning issue.

assuming that's the case - you can set wavelab up to record via the same interface that you are using to import your stuff into cubase... on to your other point - when you play side b of the tape - are you getting levels in your recording program? what soundcard are you using? |

i do see the levels when i record side b
i have a Q10 for soundcard this is how i'm recording from the stereo got a 1/4" going from the headphone jack on the receiver to 1 input in the soundcard i record the sound from the soundcard into cubase as an audio track this process worked for both side a and side b on 2 tapes the bump is at mixdown i did turned it down very low you think that could be a cause i got one thing to check: the Background release thanks for the replies Guidance |

I know you probably have already thought of this and retryed everything, but did you make sure that when you went to mixdown that the locaters were set right?
Once I had them backwards so it looked like they were in the right spot, but the L locater was at the end of the song and the R was at the start. It resulted in flatlines if I remember right. Another thing is making sure that you have the right boxes checked in the mixdown box that pops up before it processes it, ie: the mixdown what is between the locaters box and stuff. I hope I understand your problem right, sorry if I didn't and this doesn't apply to you. ![]() |

You are in fact using a "stereo" cable to get into your soundcard right? How can you get a stereo signal into a single input on the Q10? Are you setting up your recording software's track to record stereo? |
