Transffering from HD24 to CPU

I bought a HD24 to transffer 26 songs to a G4 for mixing. I networked the machines , but my transffer rate was 512k/sec. Each file(track is about 30mb). So its taking about 3 minutes to transffer each track. The major problem is that when I grab the folder to transffer an entire song(all 24 tracks) its only transferring the 1st track, then I get errors for the other 23 tracks. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? And is there a faster way to get these songs off this machine? Thanks in advance for any advice.
