Recording voice

I'm remaking the lead vocal on one of my songs. This time, I am recording the voice totally dry and I will put the effects at the mixing phase. I use 2 microphones, 1 condensor AKG (through the Hart tube pre-amp) and 1 dynamic Audio Technica. The level of the Audio Technica is about 1/3 of the AKG and is there to give more body to the voice. I did my first take yesterday and the input is decent (I have to see what I can do at the mixing phase). Now my question is what should I look for if I want to upgrade my vocal recording chain, say with a good pre-amp and an MP57. What differences should I look for in the dry signal ?
