WHY is it Sharing channels?CUBASE VST

okay, my scenario:

audio channels are 1-8. track one has my instrumental.
sometimes track 1 and 2 are shared together and i cannot mess with the levels up channel 2 without it moving channel 1.
how can i seperate the channel?

another case:

channel one with the audio instrumental.

but channel 3 and 4 are linked to one another. i cannot adjust the levels of these two individually. how can i have all the audio channels seperate.

someone please help. i'm real new to cubase VST.

ALBERTPIKE has a little shameless behaviour in the past
First make sure that your track is mono and not stereo. If you have it clicked stereo, something like that might happen. And you must make sure that you have designated a seperate channel number for each track. Look in the little box with the channel numbers. Hope this helps.
