hooking up a cd player

I have successfully hooked my CD player to my yamaha 01v. I have the 01v connected via adat to my sound card and run cubase sx as my sequencer. i am having trouble getting the CD music to get to the sequncer. i am figuring it is something very obvious with signal path, but I am really not sure. Any hints?
