Effects in "split" tracks, perameters?

Was wondering how can you tell what effects are in tracks or "split" tracks? My problem is upon splitting a track to say...2 seconds, then add in an effect then leave it, then come back to it 4 minutes later to see the parameters on what you set the effects at... it will not allow me to see what I originally "SET" the effects at? In Wavelab 4.0, you right click and it says "view" effects and your parameters. Why can't Sonar do this in the "add audio" effects section, I know you can view effect perameters in the far left track effects but not in "split track" effects.
HELP! Thanks! Peter ><>

You mean the name of the preset disappear?

That has something to do with DirectX itself, and don't blame Cakewalk for it. You should talk to Microsoft.

And explain what's different between a "split track" (?) and a normal audio track.

...Upon right clicking say on track 1, I choose the option "split" , which in turn will split the track anywhere where I have the "starting line", this way I can take 2 or so seconds of the 5 min track and add effects, fade, etc to JUST TO THAT 2 seconds. After I "print" the effects onto the "designated 2 seconds" of that track, I will sometimes go back to that 2 seconds to see what I have set the effect perameters at, well it will NOT let you see what you have set them at, it looks like it DEFAULTS the "visual" settings. You may be able to HEAR your personal settings, but not be able to SEE your settings. Hope this clarifies things.
Thanks! Peter ><>

That's right, you won't be able to see the settings. The effect is allready applied to the clip and closed afterwards...

You need to store the settings in a preset to get them back. Write a name in the box at the top, and click the disk icon. Now you can select them later...
