my new ibanez rg 570 gott its first scratch today. i was playing it and i have this lords prayer plack that hangs on the wall and it fell wright on the guitar body and chipped it. (BUMMER)
oh well i guess its getting broke in lol.

battle scars are cool, but it helps to have war stories from them. not "i let this drunk handle my guitar and he dropped it on the concrete"-the lord's prayer falling on it could make for a fine story!

ok i feel better about it now guys thanks lol. by the way my lords prayer plaque must way like 3 pounds or more, my dad made it outta oak and its like inch and 3/4 thick so it hit hard and scared the dickens outta me lol. god bless tim pate

technique #1)
Get some #10 superglue from StewMac, the real thin stuff. Use a toothpick to perform the "dropfill" technique. Dip the toothpick in the superglue untill you have a single drop hanging from the tip. Touch the drop (but not the toothpick) to the dent. It will spread out flat. Reapeat as necessary to fill the dent transparently with a shine on top.

technique #2)
Steam out the dent with a wet washcloth and a hot soldering iron. Heat the iron untill it is hot. Wrap the tip in the wet washcloth and apply to the dent. The hot iron will push steam into the collapsed, crushed wood fibers and the steam will re-inflate the fibers. Use for just a few moments to avoid heat damage to the finish.
