Midi FX

I'm having a lot of problems using Sonar (v2.2)'s in-built midi effects ie. Chord analizer and Arpegiator.

Every time (and I mean every time) I insert one of them into a track and then try to open the effect it crashes the program.

I've had this problem from v9 and hope it's rectified in every update - But it's not.

Is anyone else having this problem and if so, what should I do about it? Or is this just me???

Rob

Mine works... Have you tried to re-install the effects?

No, but I'm unsure why this wouldn't be resolved when simply upgrading - which is, in effect, reinstalling.

But I'll have a go anyway and see if it helps.

Thanks for the response.

Blimey, that was quick!

I'm using a Yamaha SW1000xg for general stuff and a MOTU micro express for my Proteus 2000. Both have (I think) the latest drivers.

Any help?

Damn! Those are good, and should work properly..

But it still a chance they don't. Have you checked the Device Manager for conflicts?

what sound card are you using?
what video card?
OS?

I've had many problems with cakewalk and plug-ins due to video settings on my system.

try turning down the video acceleration 2 notches - Control Panel - Display -> Settings tab - advanced button -> Troubleshooting tab...

...and switch to 16 bit color Control Panel - Display -> Settings tab

that's a recommended setting for recording in general anyway, it's a longshot for simple midi effects, but might as well give it a try.

Well, that's not recommended using new AGP4-cards, as these are made to be most effective with 32 bit colors...
