Using VST in Sonar
I know that Cakewalk effects and plugins can be used in Steinberg programs but is the opposite possible?? Can I use Steinberg VST effects in Cakewalk Sonar and if yes how do I get to them?? Thanks very much.

I just recently downloaded a VST-DX Wrapper Lite v1.0, which shows up like other effects and lets you point to a VST effect dll file and use it.
I just started playing with it and downloaded 1 VST effect (some rich chorus effect) to play with. Unfortunately, my HS2002 crashes on me a lot when trying to use it, but at this point I'm not sure if it's the effect or the Wrapper that's given me problems. Also, I saw that there was a full-fledged version of the VST-DX Wrapper (instead of the Lite, which is free), so that one would presumably work better... Maybe others that have used these could speak better to this. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that it appears that there's a way to do it, although at this point I can't vouch for its reliability. Also, check out this thread for some links to effects: http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthr...threadid=80156-Jeff |

Just wait. Cakewalk has bought fxPansions VST-wrapper. Look out for it!
