what are your attack/release settings for the compressors you have on the individual drum pieces and how much are you squashing them?

also, do you have a multiband compressor on the overall mix?

I eq the drums before the compresion, is that a good thing or a bad thing for the sound Im after?

Kick ratio 5:0, attack 20-30ms, release 64ms -6dB reduction threshold
snare(top) and toms 3:25 attack 16, release 44, -6dB threshold
0ver heads and hi-hat, limiter attack 10, release 10, threshold until the snare was ever whith the louder cimbal

drum mix ratio 4:50, attack 36, release12, threshold -6dB

I am not totaly happy with the sound,
is it the mic positions?
the eq?
the comp settings?
all of the above?
