Anyone knows what's causing that? I have a really bad latency problem that I don't have with Samplitude... Where can I change the latency settings?

Hey wait a minute , you mispelled his name!

Oh well, I'll tell you what I know anyway. If your having latency problems the two likely culprits are the driver for your soundcard and your buffer settings.

Make sure you have the latest driver for your soundcard loaded up. What soundcard are you using? That would help us to help you.

Second make sure your buffer settings are optimized. You can follow some instructions in the "get started" manual that should help you to configure that for your system.

The soundcard is part of your problem. Soundblasters are very tough to make into decent recording devices. There was a seperate driver that someone else came out with for it, but for some people it works, and others it freezes their systems or worse.

I don't have any great advice for you except if your serious about getting into recording you might want to consider a soundcard that was built for it.

Maybe someone with the Audigy Platinum can tell you what driver they are using.

Unfortunately my setup is in pieces for at least a week until my new music room/studio is built.

I know that my latency was 4 ms.

I had my buffering set minimally, I'm running a 1.9ghz, 1 GB RAM P4 so it has enough oomph to not need the buffering to run smooth.

I havn't downloaded the new driver that lets you change the screen color and it fixes one or two other things I hear. Tell me what you think of it.

my latency is 11ms seemingly the lowest how can i get 4ms
Buffer size on a minimum 128 is that good or bad

i'm running a +1600 Dual Processor AMD and 512 Megs of Ram

My main problem was rather Pops and clicks that i'll noticed once i have up to 3 to 4 mixdown tracks added to my 8 or 10 midi tracks

Are the clicks occuring when the screen is refreshing, ie...starting or redrawing a "new" screen while playing, or is it just happening in random spots?

the pops and clicks are random

but but i'm not tracking on cubase right now so i haven't tested the new drivers yet

is this a known issue??

I have heard of people having trouble with their video card causing clicks when the screen refreshes occationally. Usually, turning the video card performance down to the minimum stops the trouble. If you don't use your DAW for gaming you don't need the graphics boost so it's not a big sacrifice.
