There's three other HR folk here in the Denver area who've gotten together a couple of times: myself, Lunatic, and Wallycleaver (although the latter two haven't been very active here lately). Here's an old thread covering some of our activities... http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthr...threadid=40744

None of us are Acid or Sound Forge types, unfortunately (Wally is a Pro Tools guy from Boulder or thereabouts, and Lunatic and I lean towards standalone MDMs and Cubase: he in Evergreen, I think, and I'm in Franktown)- but that doesn't make us bad people. Perhaps some Front Range noise can be made here... Stay in touch!

Skippy,

Even if we don't use the same software, there is still a ton of non-software specific things that we could chat about. I'm fairly new at the recording stuff (only about a couple years now), but where I lack in recording skills, I make up for in computer knowledge. I think they had to rotate the keyboard in my Mom's womb so I could be delivered.

Currently I'm in the process of buying a new house - check out this post and let me know what you think of my purposed studio setup:

http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthr...threadid=81718

Anyway, that would be cool to get together and network with some fellow home recorders. If nothing else, it would be nice to just get out of the house and meet some new people...

Any plans for a meeting soon?

Alan

Did somebody say my name? I knew I felt my ears burning.

I have Acid Pro 4.0 but have yet to really dig into it. I would love to talk to someone who has actually gotten to the meat of that software.

The wife uses Vegas Video for her video stuff and we just upgraded to Vegas 4.0 + DVD.

I think some 'ritas are DEFINATELY in order. I know after this snowstorm I need to get my butt out of the house.

Skippy, I haven't forgot that I need to call you but some very interesting developments have occured in our studio design and that has me very preoccupied. But we can talk about that later

So... are we all getting together or what?!

Peace,
Lunatic

Lunatic,

I have worked with Acid 4.0 quite a bit recently. I've even been creating my own one-shot loops from my drum kit in an attempt to get the drum sounds I want. They are actually coming out quite well...
I recently purchased Vegas+DVD also. I've already discovered a few bugs that are quite annoying (like not being about to load V2 projects into V4). Hopefully a patch or two will come out soon and fix the problems that many people have already reported.
Anyway, if you guys are planning on getting a Denver get-togther going and don't mind a recording Newbie tagging along, I've love to join you.

Alan
P.S. Weekends are good for me...

Good news,

Sonic Foundry just released the Vegas 4.0b and DVD Architect 1.0b patches (or updates as they like to call them).
