Mr-8 upgrade problems

In a nut shell. Trying to ugrade to 1.03.
Can get the zip file to open. But not the 03 type file that comes out of the zip file? Is this something that the MR-8 opens itself once I get the info to the card or do I have to open the 03 file then put it on the flash card? If so,, what do I use to open this 03 file thing.
I use Windows SE. Is there an "emulator" to facilitate the use of the USB ports,( MR-8 to PC) ?

Hey Dude,

You dont have to open the .03 file. Just plug ole Red into the PC with your USB cable, open it up and drag (or copy) the file into the main directory. Dont put it in the 2Mix file or anywhere else, just the main directory (root) of the MR-8 (Magic Red).

Voila!

After you do that, you will have to shut the Magic Red down and flip it back on again while holding the stop key I believe. It will do its little thingy and BAM, 1.03 will be installed. yay.

Many thanks,,,I got to wondering about all that,,,,thanks for confirmation. This MR-8 thing seem to be too touchy for me to hunt an peck on an upgrade operation like I would on a PC.
Have shelved the recording thing for a week or two. Will do said mod VIA your reccomendation. Seems sound.
