Books on Cool Edit Pro
Anyone here buy any books on Cool Edit Pro and how to use it to it's potential? If you did how helpful would you say they were? Which ones would you recommend?

Cool Edit Pro Version 2 User's Manual.
Incredibly useful for learning about what the program can do. But like a lot of manuals, sometimes it tells you about a feature but you're left wondering: "Well, okay, but when and how do I actually *use* it? The book's identical to the help feature contained in the program, but it's more pleasant reading a book than onscreen help. It's almost 400 pages long. |

Yes, so the question then is: Other than the 400-page manual, when might we expect a user-friendly guide to Cool Edit Pro 2.0? Is there likely to be one?

"Audio Editing with Cool Edit" by Richard Riley
It is pretty good, doesn't cost an arm or leg, and also covers "Pro". Barnes & Noble or Borders ought to have it.

The manual's as user-friendly as anything I've seen. The thing is, it's COMPREHENSIVE, which is why it's as long as it is. But don't expect quick answers. It requires study. It isn't going to make your instant coffee for you. |
