Wavelab/ Sonar

I'm really not familiar with wavelab. What can it do for me that Sonar 2xl cannot? I've heard lots of people mention it.

Editing stereo files is a lot easier if you don't have to create a Cakewalk project and then open it up and place your wave file in there. In programs like Cool Edit and, I think, Wavelab, you just open the wav file. In addition, stereo editors are designed from the perspective of editing stereo files. DAWs are designed from the perspective of multitracking. There will be features and UI differences in stereo editors that are condusive to stereo editing, and the same applies to the DAW. So, no, there probably aren't specific tasks in Wavelab that are impossible to do in Sonar; it's just that they'll be a lot easier to do in Wavelab.

dig it. I like the idea of lining out multiple tunes for comparing levels and such before creating a CD. Thanks, boys.

the biggest thing Wavelab can do that sonar can't do is SRC(Sample Rate Conversion). lets say u recorded at 96K in sonar it sould be stuck at 96k but wit wavelab u can reduce it to 44.1 which is CD ready 96k can't be burned

Well, I got it. The whole reason I asked was because I had an opportunity to get it at a good price and wasn't sure I'd ever use it. I did, and I will. Seems like a great tool so far. Thanks biotches.
