Yama 01v preamps

I'm still looking for a new board with better preamps. I currently have a behringer 24 channel board which I run through a MOTU 24i into the computer. I use Cubase SX. How are the preamps on the yamaha 01v? How do they compare to mackie?

There is now a new Yamaha 01V96 that is 24 bit and 96 khz. It also can be used as a digital control surface and has improved sound quality in a number of respects over the original. With respect to a Mackie, I would imagine this new Yamaha easily wins out both in functionality and sound. And, by the way, I have a Mackie 24/8 which I am using with the MOTU 24 i/o so the Yamaha board is looking rather nice though I would need more inputs than the 01V96 offers. Still, for your needs, this sounds like the best way to go and, it is cheaper than the mackie 24/8.

actually i was hoping for more inputs. I would like to have the same setup just a better board with better preamps. Not sure which mackie would be best. Or possibly a soundfracts of allen & heath. I already have the motu as converters, so I probably don't really need the digital board. Which board do you reccommend?
