Just wondering why you need 2 200 gig drives and an 80? Skip the 80, you'll never miss it. Also I think 1 gig of ram is PLENTY!

Also why two DSP cards? Skip the Powercore, and get better converters. How about:

-Converters-
(1)RME - HDSP 9652: 3 Adat and other stuff ($585) Audiomidi.com
(1 - 3) Lucid ADA 8824 - Adat lightpipe out ($1,988) Macmidimusic.com

-Monitors-
Mackie HR-824 with Sub

-Microphones-
(1) Neumann U87i - not ai, look on ebay for an old one ($1450 most of the time)
(2) Josephson c42 (sd condensers than are better than a km184 and more like old km84i)
(1) Sennheiser 441 (Ebay $200 - $350)
(3) Sennheiser 421 ($200 - $300)
(1) AKG D112 - $199
(3) Shure Sm57
(1) Shure SM7 (300 - 400)
(2) Beyer m260

-Pres-
(1) Great River MP2NV
(2) Davisound Mic All (8 total channels)
(1) JoeMeek VC6Q
(1) Vintech X72 (neve 1073 clone)

More to come. . . Maybe tommorow

the computer already has 2 gig of ram.. it can take up to 4gig but i'm keeping whats in it.. 2gig..
the harddrives.. i have one 200gig already(new) in my daw at the moment i have a 80gig and a 120gig.. the 80gig is my main drive and the 120 is my audio drive

i like some features the powercore has, i like some that the uad-1 has.. i can get both at great prices so i'm going too..

no need for the rme.. if i get a rme i'd get a multiface
the Lucid ADA 8824, do you think its converters are better than the hd192?

i'm getting a pair of smaller monitors also.. from 4inch to 6inch

the C42's seem nice.. somthing i'll look into later, but i don't need them now.
the Sennheiser's are nice but i have no need for them right now
the akg.. its a bass drum mic.. why would i need one...??
No need for the sm57.. they won't even come out the boxes
the shure sm7 sounds nice.. but the 3 mics i listed are my 3 main vocal mics
i have no need for the m260's either

as for the U87ai.. we already have it i like the sound of the ai and i, but the ai has a lower noise..

i have no need for all those pres.. my dad wants me to go with something like the neve clone,a decent avalon or a purepath..

Sorry I missed the part where you said you were doing RAP.

MOTU stuff and PC's normally don't do well together. So be careful.

Good Luck

i just setup my friends studio with 2 hd192's running pc with XP... works like a charm.. they actually have better drivers these days.. i may look into the lucid though.. right now i run delta 1010 which sounds great and i always render a great quality with it.. i may look at the rme multiface though..
yes i produce R&b and hiphop(rap as you called it)
i will have the space to mic live drums and stuff but thats gonna come down the line..
