ACID cheap!
anyone considering Acid Pro -- it's $149.99 at the dreaded Guitar Center right now.
i couldn't resist getting it! gee, glad i didn't buy it from their site for 200 bucks more! the small versions are cheap too (acid dj etc) -- $19.99 -- but i wanted the 24-bit capabilities & the VSTi support, so i had to drop the bigger dollars. ok, got some learnin' to do now... |

I bought 4.0, even though I had Acid 3.0 already. VSTi's are a pretty cool addition, though midi implementation still sux, and my Steinberg Model-E VSTi makes Acid frow up.
Clincher for me was all those loop disks they throw in. a few are pretty dated, but a lot of useful stuff. Buying new at GC was the same price as the upgrade, so I have a fully licensed 3.0 and a fully licensed 4.0 now. Don't really have a second PC to load it on, but it's not like I paid extra. Daf |

but i wonder why
it's so cheap all of a sudden? my fear was that they're going out of business or something (sonicfoundry, not GC), or were about to come out with something that makes acid obsolete!
i mean, i'm sure that'll happen at some point, just hopefully not so soon as to make me feel like an a$$ |

Thew loop disks they threw in were worth $150, and you'll be able to make music with Acid for years.
Sonar has support for Acidized loops, too, and they're doing great now. Not to worry. ![]() |
