Exclamation

I am currently mastering a 6 song recording and the only problem I am having is with the lead vox around 1k. Any suggestions on how to control it? I have tried several things but have been dissatisfied so far. The mix is great except for the occasional bursst of this frequency. Also, what is the best tool in sf 4.0 to raise the overall level?

Thanks in advance,
Tonyh

Hey Tony,
You might try the eq's that come with soundforge, try taking that 1k down. As far as the loud portions of a song highlight the problem area by clicking and try multiband dynamics under effects, choose "reduce loud plosives" preview or ok, see if that works. As far as jackin everything up I like to use the graphic dynamics under effects "soft knee/compressor gate" or normalize under process. Preview these it won't hurt, you can always undo under edit. Good luck

Tonyh,

You may also want to try a multiband compressor with the band centered around 1k.
