I think the TD6 is a decent little brain - it compares relatively close to the Yamaha DTExpress brain.

The TD8 is a much better brain with more editing more analog outs, better sounds, etc - but it's also more costly.

Haven't really used either but I've seen bands with the Roland and Yamaha triggers. Seemed unsensitive, like the trigger or brain wasn't sensing all levels of midi. Either they didn't set them right or they were intentionally using it that way.

Kat went out of business a few years back and I got some of their stock they were blowing out. Very good stuff with a lot of parameters to really tweak your system and playing style. Try finding Dauz pads, the MidiKiti or the DK10. I think Kurzweil may have bought Kat sometime ago but I'm not certain.

I haven't used all that stuff in a while but I plan to in the near future. If you still haven't found anything I might be able to dig up my extra MidiKiti. It's in a box somewhere.
