Is it possible to take my tascam 488 8 tracks and record each track separately to this software and have it play back together?

yes...as long as you input one track at a time because acid is not a multitracker (at least input wise) and can only record one track at a time..

any reason your asking about acid ? if your looking to multitrack you might want to look into vegas...
