I'm trying to get the demo of Vegas to work with my configuration. I understand how the buses and what not work, but I cannot get it to see the inputs or outputs of the Aark 20/20. Under options>preferences, the Aark inputs and outputs are listed there, but greyed out. Microsoft Sound Mapper is selected for all busses, I can't deselect it.

In the Help files it mentions "make sure you disable Microsoft Sound Mapper" or something to that affect, but I do not see this option anywhere. It also mentions, "custom routing", again I can't find this.

Looks like an excellent program, just need to get through these initial setup problems.

Thanks in advance.

The demo version I used had two radio buttons at the top of that Preferences under the Routing tab. It said something like Bus to Hardware Routing. The options are "Microsoft Sound mapper" and "Use custom bus routing". Once I selected Use custom routing, then I could change everything in the window below where the buses are listed. The demo I had has already expired, so it could have changed since I used it. It's possible that the documentation hasn't been updated to reflect the change someone made in the interface, and they have moved this section somewhere else.

Thumbs down

The first demo version I had forced you to use windows wave mapper. No good. The second one had the feature that JonX described.

Ok, that must be the problem, I d/l this demo quite a while ago, and must of been the first release. I'll download the new one and give it a shot.

Thanks!
