how to direct monitor? help a newbie.

Here's my setup. PC, WinXP, Guitartracks pro from cakewalk, M-Audio DUO usb and sp5b monitors hooked up to line outs on back of usb sound card. Disabled soundblaster pci in computer, have the simultaneous record/playback checked. tracks record and playback great, no way I can find to direct monitor except to press stand alone button on duo. Then I can hear what I'm playing (using a POD) thru monitors, but no longer the recorded tracks from cakewalk. All the items in the win mixer are enabled. Am I missing something here? am I unable to monitor the track I'm recording w/ this product while listening to previously recorded tracks? Help, this ain't like the real thing at all.

I've got it set for the mme drivers

This card appears to have a different control panel than the audiophile. But do you have inputs 1-2 and outputs 1-2 active ?
You shouldn't need to use the WIN control panel as that would be for the SB which you have disabled.
And you should be able to use ASIO with win xp, but thats not the problem
