Cymbal question.

What do you drummers think of the Zildian "A" Cymbals?
(For crash and ride)

theletterq is on a distinguished road
Rock & Roll (and everything else for that matter) classics. Like a Les Paul or Fender Strat.

I personally use Sabian, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Zildjians.

Thumbs up Good stuff

The high hats are IMHO the shit! I eventually added a heavier bottom hat because the chick sound (closing the hat) is a little mushy sounding for my taste. Added a bronze bottom and viola!- crisp chick, but still classic A high hat sound on top.

The crashes seem to really vary in sound based on the thickness. I like the thin and paper thin ones a lot, but they are really tough to find because they break easily. I think that the newer ones are pretty similar sounding though.

The rides are classic for sure. Lots of nice tonal variation accross the cymbal. The bells are wonderful. The medium ones have a nice wash and usable crash too. Every one I've played seems to have a little different character to it.

There are sooo many varieties of tasty rides out there now though, and I've chosen a Sabian hand hammered for my kit, but it's probably the fact that it reminded me of an old A Zildjian I used to have- and it was a great deal.
