keyboard amps for vintage gear?

help me out here guys... i'm wondering what are really good amp combinations for vintage keyboards? i know that rhodes ep's have the option of a rhodes cabinet, but what else sounds really good for both live and studio? what about a wurlie? i once ran my hammond clone thru a monster bassman amp and it sounded pretty sweet, tho i prefer a real leslie.

any other ideas? experiences? etc? thx

One of the best keyboard amplifiers I have come across has been the Fender Vibrosonic from the early 70's.
100 W, 2 channels, 1 - 15" Fender Professional speaker (made by Gauss).

I bought it in high school primarily as a guitar amp for myself, but occasionally rented it out to bands when they needed something special.
(Herb Ellis played through it and wanted to buy it !).

However, the original intent for this amp was for keyboards - when a reggae band came through town, the keyboard player rented it, and I couldn't believe how good it sounded on his Rhodes. He also played an old mono synth (??) through it as well.

Give it a thought - the market price of this amp may be a bit high (vintage, you know ). I sold mine to a friend recently for CAD$1500 rather than put it into storage again, and he's willing to sell it back when I return for the same price (only way I would let it go ). I am sure you would appreciate the tone.

I believe the Fender Jazz Chorus is considered to be good for Rhodes etc.

thanks teknomike... i'll check out the vibrosonic. sounds probably like what i'm looking for. something i could plug my digital gear and get somewhat of a vintage sound too (ie. nord electro)...
