Tell me a famous song an adat was used

Alesis and a lot of other people say that some pro studios use the Alesis adat and that many hits have been recorded on adat. Oh yea.. tell me one. I believe it but I just want to know exactly what.

Although they are local I have recorded quite a few records using ADATS many of them 16 bit. They really are a part of recording history and for once Alesis really got it right.

I believe the Lisa Loeb album with "Stay" on it was one of the first commercially released albums recorded on the original black face ADAT. I also think they used the original Mackie 24X8 Mixer on that project as well.

I know one of Def Leppard's recent albums was done totally on Adat. Not the recent one, but the one before last. When I was living in Nashville, I can count on one hand how many studios I was in that DIDN'T have an Adat somewhere. Tons of records have been recorded with them, but even albums that weren't recorded with them, a lot of tracks were flown in off of them from home studios of band members such as Queensryche back in the day.

Talking

Yo Bear of Blue:

I saw the real Berl Ives perform at the Chicago theater when I was a kid.

You're right -- he had a good voice and never changed from his roly-poly image -- I guess he liked to eat.

He was a very relaxed performer as I recall.

Right next door, at the Capital Lounge, I watched Dizzy Gillespie wail for over an hour -- summertime, the door was open and I was waiting for a Greyhound Bus. Sounds like a good title for a song.
