Cool Blues Rocker Recorded on VF-160/Puter Combo

I've been meaning to finish up this tune for awhile but decided to wait until I recieved my VF-160 and SP-5B Monitors. When I got to playing around with this I decided I would use both to do the Job. I burned the individual Basic Tracks to the tune to CD and imported them as raw tracks to the VF-160. I then recorded a couple of new guitar tracks and started mixing on the Fostex. I added a bit of "Arena" Reverb to the VOX track and my favorite output compression settings to the Master.

I then mixed a bit more for practice because I wanted to do this the old fashioned way, using faders to control the volume instead of compression to see how it would come out. I went from the Stereo Outs on the back of the VF-160 to the Line In on the puter soundcard. Pulled up Power Tracks 8 and hit Record on the puter and Play on the Fostex and commenced the Mixdown using the Faders on the Fostex and here it is:

The LORD Is http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/...224193927#8467 It's the second tune there. The LORD Is Mix5 was my last mix before I got the new toys.

Cool

Hey Axe,

By the way, I like your handle. I get it now after looking at the list of your songs posted on NWR.

Christian music is really rocking these days. I like the guitar work in general, particularly at 2:17 which reminds me of a riff Knopfler did once upon a time.

Did you play guitar on this song. It sounds great. The guitar is clean and has soul. I'm impressed.

Keep rockin'

Earl;

Hey thanks for the listen man! Glad you enjoyed it. I left music in 1980 and didn't even have a guitar when I was called back into it in 2000. Glad ya feel a calling to do it again. When I left, I missed all the stuff from the 80's and 90's and I guess I'm stuck in my 70's roots.

Yeah the music that is being played and recorded by home recorders is really something else man. There is a big underground of people doing amazing things at home. No wonder the record companies are complaining but it's their own fault.

KF;

Yeah there's some good things going on in Christian Music these days, especially the Indie Scene.

Yeah, I played the guitars on this tune. Glad you enjoyed the playing.

Thanks for the listen, Bro!

turntablist;

The Drums, in fact the whole Basic Rythymn Track of Bass, Drums, and one of the Rythymn Guitars, were recorded live last year. The Drums were sub-mixed using 7 mics if I remember correctly.

The only "Mastering" that took place after the Mixdown described in my post above was Editing out a few seconds at the beginning and end and pumping the Volume up about 5 db using a Peak Limiter in the recording program.

Thanks for the listen and glad you enjoyed it, Bro!

I am having problems with nowhere. Real player wants to keep accessing something from there and one song played once. I did not want the song that played so I clicked another then it never worked again. Nowhere is a suitable name for that page.
