Roland R5

I do indeed understand that utilizing a real drummer would be the way to go, but I - for one - do not have that luxury. A friend of mine is no longer interested in making music, and is selling his last piece of gear - a Roland R5 Humanizing (or something to that effect) Rhythm Machine for $50. I would like to know how this machine stacks up, as far as drum machines go. He can't seem to locate the manual, and there didn't seem to be a place online whereby a downloadable version could be obtained. Any help would be appreciated.
