John Williams is on a distinguished road
MR8 to ProTools

I spent last week writing some tunes and cut demos on my MR8 - acoustic guitar(on the built-in mic), electric guitar, bass, and drum machine.

I cut one tune at a time on the MR8 and used my PC to drag the entire folder from the CF card to a data CD as soon as I was done. I didn't do any "mixdown" and cut the tracks with little overdub so the folders only contained discreet tracks in .WAV files.

I handed the CD off to a drummer who took the CD to a pro studio where they loaded all the tracks directly into ProTools without any conversion. They cut drum tracks and and now I'm in the process of replacing all of the other tracks.

This is a great feature of the MR8. Yeah, I'm not keeping any of the original tracks but this is saving me a LOT of time. Replacing each track one at a time is way easier than working from a single, mixed, guide track.
