Copy effects from 1 track to another

Seems I read on one of these threads not long ago how to copy the effects from one track to another thereby keeping the same settings. But I can't seem to find it in a search. I think you hold down the CTL while dragging the effects to the other tracks, but I just don't remember. Anybody remember this?

Just drag it. (or is it control + drag?) Sheesh... I do it all the time without even thinking about it. Now I'm at work and can't remember.

That solution will certainly work. You can also create a separate VMain and place the effect on the VMain. Not only will this place the same amount and type of effect on each track that runs through it, but it takes LOTS less CPU time as you only need one instance of the effect.

Certainly a good idea but I wouldn't recommend that for compression and gate...

Agreed. Placing effects on the VMain is only usefull when you wish to use the same exact effect on multiple tracks. I like it for placing reverb on multiple background vocal tracks. Saves tons of CPU cycles.

I use the Aux'es for that. It let's you control the amount of reverb you want on the track...

ditto. i use the aux too. more flexible, although it takes a bit more time to do than routing to the vmain, but anyway.

YESSS !!!

For :

- Using the Ctrl + drag for copying effect and setting.
- Using the Aux for general effect (reverb, master EQ, analog tape emulator, etc.). It makes all track "mixed" in same room/stage feel. And certainly decrease CPU used.
- Using Compression / gate in each tracks.
- Ten informative reply within minutes is just a positive indication that WE'RE THE BEST !!!
