Cubase VST instellation

Help, help, help,
Please exuse me, i'm not a PC man...Mac is my thing.
I need help with Cubase VST 3.5.
I have Installed and when I open it I get the following messages:

*ASIO Multimedia Driver
Error code: FF7-5-000C (3)
INFO: Driver could not be opened.

*ASIO Driver could not be started.

*Audio could not create native audio engine.

*There is no translator available for this audio information:
c/VSTINST/DIRECTX/5.0/DSETUP.dll

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND HOW DO I RETIFY IT.

P.S. I don't have a fancy sound card I have a PCI sound card.
