Need help with my Joemeek VC1Qcs
Here's my setup: I am micing a Guitar amp with an sm57 straight into the VC1Q. Then i run the output of it into a DPS24 (bypassing the internal pre's).
Now, the problem is that I can get a hot enough signal into the DPS without getting a lot of distorion. Anyone know what i can do about this? Thanks Ryan |

very strange
that really shouldnt be happening.
is the compressor, eq and especially the enhancer off line? as in, make sure you are just dealing with the pre. make sure your input gain isnt too high. that may be the problem. set the output gain to 0 or so... (it has an output gain right? i used to own one of these, but i sold it) ummm.. actually, you could also just post what all your settings are on the pre

well, I started buy uping the output gain to about 9 o'clock so i could hear what it sounded like. Then I Slowly raised the input gain (while monitoring the VU meter) until i got a good level. Then i raised the output up, and i couldn't get a descent level through the DPS. I tried it every way possible. With some light compression, none, a lot. I left everything else completely flat/off. By the time i got a descent level into the DPS it sounded like crap. Maybe I'm missing something. Alan Hyatt, any input?
Thanks Ryan |
