GT Pro mixdown ?

I've just noticed something for the first time and wondered if someone could explain it....

I am using GT Pro I have got a mix completed and I am happy with it. I was going to bounce it down to a single track to export it.

I was having a final listen and switched on the mains console as the overall volume was too low and I wanted to raise the mains volume.

As the mix was playing I slid the mains volume controller up too much causing it to peak in the red on both the left and right channel and quickly slid it back down.......but the red lights in the two red boxes above the volume strips stayed on and I had to click on them to get them to go out.

What is the reason for this? ( I know it will be a simple answer)

well im guessing that the logic behind the meter peak lights staying on is because if your not watching the meter lights during playback and you get clipping going on there would be know way to tell that the audio was clipping if you didnt watch the meters at all times. they stay on that way when you do look at them they will be lit up which tells you that your audio was clipping somewhere along the line. good luck with gt pro. its hard to get anyone to answer any questions on here somtimes but for the most part you will find that most of the guys on here can realy get you outta a tight spot from time to time. god bless tim pate.

standard console behavior

On my digital board I have the option of using PEAK HOLD or not. this means an indicator will show the highest level and hold it there until something greater comes in. I can disable it if I want. In your case, the red light is similar except it means what the last guy said it means. there could be a way to disable it, but its probably best to keep it on.
