Yes, you can get those, but you'll have to plan how to do it. Obviously, you'll need to combine or "bounce" tracks, so you'll need to decide what's important.

You don't need to mic the drums with just one mic. You can use four mics, but set the levels to get the sound you like, and send them all to one track. OR you could record them on tracks 1-3 and then mix & bounce them all to track 4 (for example).

You could then record bass, and bounce the bass and drums down to one track. Then you could record two guitars and bounce those down to one track. Then you'd have two tracks open for vocals.

Personally, I would do it so drums were one track, bass was another, guitars were another, and vocals another. It depends on what you want to highlight, etc. You'll need to experiment to get the recipe you like. But try not to bounce a track more than once. Good luck.

Question

How many tracks will your 424 let you record simultaniously. Two or Four ?
