Wow...I had absolutely no idea that we had a "Studio Building and Display" forum...LOL. I need to get out of the clinic more often.

Looks nice, Dres. I'd post a pic of mine, but I'm afraid It might give away some of the "magic" of my recordings. Kinda' like when somebody takes your picture...it's like they're stealing your soul.

I don't let people take my pic very much.

Question

Desk ? who needs a desk ? I did actually start out with a desk but it took up too much room and is now gone.... also found I couldn't get in the right listening position with my computer on a desk. Acousticaly the room is balanced by making a lot of compromises.

For anyone who's interested I got the panels made and designed by an acoustic consultant who happens to live locally - Aro Technology (they are pritty rare in Australia). The panel that made the biggest difference is the one hanging from the ceiling. Cleaned the imaging up enormously. They are his own custom design but are basically insulation batts in a wooden frame with a fabric cover.

16 mm veneered MDF sheet toward the back of the room. Cheaper than ripping up the carpet and putting a wood floor in. Although it creeps as you walk on it which it very annoying

This also help get a better sound out of the floor to ceiling diffusor at the back of the room (not pictured)
