Tracking/Monitoring With Soundcraft

Well, my Mackie needs to go into the shop so I'm left with what is essentially a live board to track with.

I'm going to start a project with a new band this weekend. I'll be recording to an HD24. The board I will have to use is a Spirit Live 40x8. I've used it for recording live with excellent results but I didn't have to monitor/mix on it.

I figure that I can use the line level inputs for playing back and mixing. Does this pose any problems that I'm missing. I know that the line in automatically cuts the mic input off, so I'll be doing some repatching.... though actually, the board has 40 plus inputs, so I can use some of the "extra channels".

Thoughts?
