Question about fade out function…

Question about fade out function…

If I have a track that is made up of several parts or “blocks” is it possible to fade out just one of those blocks and leave the rest unaffected?

Here’s what I mean:

____________ represents silence
^^^^^^^^^^^^^represents recorded sound

Track 1. ________^^^^^^part1^^^^^F^^^_________^^^^^^part2^^^^^^^_______

When I fade out at the point marked F it fades out part 1 nicely but then the entire rest of track 1 is also silent, including part 2. Is there a way to just fade out part 1 and leave part 2 unaffected?

OK, I figured this out. I can go in after my fade out and show my volume envelopes and then just bring my level back up (fade back in) before the next part on that track starts.
