Woolen quilts and sound insulation

Hey ! Someone give me a idea, its' sounds so wiered but i don have any hesitation sharing it, well someone told my that for sound insulation one can use a packed wollen quilts on cement pipes, is that make any sense?

how big are the cement pipes?

well in my case my walls height frm floor to cieling is around 10 Fts, these piper are used for water and other draining facilities and available in lots' of sizes and radius.

Is is something good treatment?

i don't think so... for absorbtion, the sound has actually got to get into them in the first place...

I'm not too sure on this one, i'm gonna let the other guys chip in on this one before I offer any big yes or no's.
