compiling sample cd's into instruments?

Hi

I'm new to using sample, and was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way of compiling instruments?

I mean, I have all these sample cd's. How do I turn them into usable instruments?

I'm using Halion and Kontakt.

What kinda sample cd's? AKAI, WAVE files, or what?

In HALION... Go to options and IMPORT whatever file type you have... I THINK.
