Alesis RA100 and Soundblaster Live
Anyone know how to get a stereo signal from a Soundblaster Live soundcard to an Alesis RA100 reference amp? It seems that a 1/8" stereo plug plugged into the soundcard and then split to two 1/4" RCA jacks doesn't work as there is no signal.
Thanks. |

Well... for one thing -- there's no such thing as a 1/4" RCA connector, so that could be part of your problem!
![]() But seriously.......... you'd need to take the line out of the SB card, use a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" TS y-cable to split the stereo 1/8" signal into two cables, then connect those 1/4" TS to the input on the RA100........ If this doesn't work, then you are either a) not using the proper output on the s/c OR b) not using the proper Y-adaptor.......

Also make sure there is nothing plugged into the headphone jack if your particular sb card has one. Back when I was still using my old sb platinum with the live drive,I almost pulled my hair out one night trying to get it to work until I figured that one out.
Good luck! |
