who prefers the AT 4040 over the 4033?

If you were picking one mic, which one would you prefer...just for general use, OH, vocals, gtr amps, ..stuff like that.

and...which would you prefer for a pair?

...realizing the 4033 is not made anymore...correct?

That's a good question. I've not had my hands on a 4040 yet. I do have a pair of 4033's and a 4047. The 4047 is a better vocal mic but if I could only have one it would be a 4033. It works more places than the 47.
