You know what really chaps my ass!!!

That DIY artical in tape-op on making your own shockmounts is the design that I posted over 18 months ago here in this forum, and that Tom Rogers dude published an artical in tape-op and gave me no credit at all.

Like right now this dude is driving his brand new Lexus and lighting his fatties with $100 bills that are rightfully mine

To top it of the pictures in the artical show an ugly version of what I posted, like mine were all black and professional looking, and his are like grey and use multicolored straps, Even the cheapest of us would be embarassed to have a client look at.

To voice your disgust his email is winky_dinglehoffer@yahoo.com

Dont forget to tell him you saw it here first.

Actually you don't get much if anything at all for writing an article in TapeOp. That really sucks that it happened, though. I'd have to agree that it didn't 'look' very good. Well, welcome to the world of publishing. Next time you have a DIY project send it to Larry Crane, (but first ask him how it needs to be sent to their office--they're quite particular about formats).

I just got my copy yesterday. I remarked to my wife how clever that thing was. She agreed. That sucks that you got ripped!

"welcome to the world of publishing"

Bullshit. That's plagiarism, not publishing. It is beneath contempt.

Thumbs down AND another case!

My Aunt is quite a kite expert here in Australia. Some years back she wrote a book called 'Kite Folds' which is available in the US. Some time later she received notification of another kite book by an American author. Guess what? Her entire book was plagiarised by this guy. Apart from more colorful artwork all the designs AND construction details were the same. The main difference? The illustrations were ALL mirror reversed. Not one... ALL of them! That was enough to be considered NOT an exact copy... and her book was published well before his.

Here's his...

'Marvelous Mini Kites'

I like the reference to the... "Designs apparently borrowed from Kite-Folds by Beth Matthews of Australia"... yeah right!!

Anyway when my Aunts publisher sent a letter of complaint to this guys publisher, they responded with the threat of a massive lawsuit unless they received a full apology for even daring to accuse them of any kind of plagiarism whatsover.

I 've been thinking about posting pages from both books side by side and letting those that may be interested deciding for themselves but my Aunt said they'd probably try and sue me as well!

My Aunt is 78 years old now and was not in the position to fight these bastards!

I didn't realise Behringer had got into publishing!

Although they wouldn't have even cared about mirroring the images!

Well I hope that he gets at least ten dollars, so he can go out and find a cheap hooker, who turns out to be a man, resulting in a nasty case of warts on his ass.

Darrin,

I have not recieved my Tape OP yet but I do remember seeing your pics here and discussing how professional they did look.

We know who'd idea it was maybe we can get a "Letter to the Editor" published in Tape OP to at least give you somew credit and a picture of how to do it right.

Just for the harassment value, why don't you sue the SOB in small claims court? Even if you lose, he'll have to show up, or cough it up.-Richie

Tape Op IS free.

darrin_h2000, I hate to break it to you, but this is not a new idea of yours OR his. This has been done for years, and I don't know that anyone could claim to have "invented" the idea.

This does not make you any less clever for figuring it out, and I am in no way claiming that you stole the idea from anyone. This would just be a simple case of parallel development.

Well I got ahold of Tom Rodgers, and hes a pretty decent dude, just a homereccer like all of us. It seems he came up with it without reading it here, and he feels the same way about having to pay like $50 to get a shockmount thats not better than one you can build for $2. Im sorry if my venting hurt you in any way. dude feel free to reach me about it if you like.

peace
Wayne
