help panning

Ok last recording session...track 1: no recording (guitar will do later), track 2:high hat side of drums (mic'd-panned all the way right), track 3: tom side of drums (mic'd-panned all the way left), track 4: bass (direct input-panned all the way right)
? is why does the bass show up on the on track 2 with the drums? How can I do 3 to 4 direct recordings without bouncing to the other tracks. Email answers to n8suni@hotmail.com
