could i use any kind of footswitch for punching in on my 488 mkII?

i have a couple already and to wire a 1/4 "
phone jack on the end would be no problem

With a regular foot switch, say an amp channel switch, you have to punch in twice to punch in and once to punch out. which can get you into trouble unless you are on top of things. Be carefull!!
