I was using a Sony pair of headphones MDR V202 for the pass year and now I using AKG K240 and the volume is alot lower thru the 488 compared to the sony pair, but it sounds alot better, is this normal? and how can I increase the volume with the AKG's, I'm all the way up on my 488.
Thanks russ |

Yo Russ:
You can get a headphone box with its own volume control to boost your headset. Be sure and test any box you might buy to make sure it's quality versus junkola. I use a Peavey headset box but it has no additional boost. I used to record on a 488. I had two of them but have since gone to the Yam MD-8. Check your plug? I have used AKG headsets and never had a problem with volume levels. Either you have a bad plug or your input levels are too low. Have you boosted the line gain when you are doing a track? This will increase what you get in the headset. As I remember, there are four tracks with a line input gain knob. Check that out. Last source, check with the Tascam info service on the net.
