My best work yet!

This is probably my best effort in my short homerecording history. I want to improve it as much as possible, please comment.

Sounds pretty good...the song is strong enough, but there are a couple things I would have personally preferred. For one, is this acoustic plugged in? I much prefer a miked acoustic over DI. The vocals are good and should be raised 3-4 dB's.
The reverb on the acoustic sounds fake. Maybe try a little more pre-delay, 40-50ms? The vocal I think could use a slight bit of panned delay during the chorus "Ride on....there's a better way" etc.
What mic are you using on the vocal? 58? I think people might have better advice for ya if you list some of your gear, especially mics.
Overall I liked this a lot. The mic placement and effects use I think could use a little work in order to get this sounding thicker and fuller.

Very cool song. I agree on the acoustic sound. I'd have much prefered a mic. Small quible there though and just a matter of taste. I would have liked more impact when you hit the chorus'. Pretty well done over all.

Thanks for the reply, my gear pretty much sucks, I used a Marshall V63 on the vocals.

The acoustic is a combination of Miced and direct in, probly too much of the direct sound.

I still can't get an acceptable acoustic sound so I can't comment on yours.Cool melodies and arrangement.Reminds me of Soundgarden a little as far as composition goes.Drums a bit overpowering sounds like a live recording.Snare up in the mix then lower the overall volume for the drums.Good song.Good effort.Good recording(Musically).

are the drums tuned? They sound a little weird, kinda loose at some spots also. Yeah, I would personally like to hear the acoustic guitars mic'ed only, perhaps double tracked, then panned. Wish the vocal was a little louder. Good voice, definitely! This is a very clean production, too! Good work

I think the biggest problem with the acoustic is the 'verb. Too much of it. It makes the acoustic sound distant.
Cool song.....when you do those sort of breakdown sections with the toms going.....I'd like to hear a booming sort of 'verb to get that "Drums in a hall" sound........nice vox.....this has a lot of promise....you should keep working on this.

good song.. just wanted to add that I didn't like some of the reverb abuse, but I forgot about it as the song progressed.. the drums sounded a bit loud in the mix.. nice tune..

Nice work. I like the song a lot and I think it's well played. I also would like the chorus to hit a little harder somehow.
