using old tapes on 424 MK3

Someone can tell me if the 424 mk3 uses the same track sizes or layouts than 424, so if I could use my tapes recorded with my old 424 on the 424 mk3.

i would seem to think that you could use the same tapes since its just a more up to date(not meaning better) version of the 424 unless the tape speeds are diferent i wouldnt see a problem.
